Chris O’Brien is a residential architect based in Tucson, Arizona. Having spent most of his life in the Sonoran Desert, Chris has a keen empathy toward the qualities that define this unique environment and that contribute to its distinctive sense of place. With every project he approaches, Chris seeks to identify, celebrate, and nurture an awareness of those qualities of each site through a meticulous design process. As a sole practitioner, Chris is able to devote the highest degree of personal attention to each project and to comprehensively engage the client on a personal level, resulting in a truly bespoke home tailored to its specific site.
Prior to earning his Architecture degree from the University of Arizona, Chris earned a dual degree in Accounting & Finance from the University of Arizona and worked in both the energy and real estate construction industries. These years immersed in the business world gave Chris an appreciation for the principles of economy, efficiency, and resource constraint in the pursuit of value creation. Consequently, Chris has tuned his architectural craft to deliver the most impactful experiential return on the design process through careful consideration of every element of a project.
